3rd time’s the charm! This was the third loc salon I’ve tried, and I’m so glad I finally found one I really love. I went to The Loc God Salon in Edgewater and had a great experience from start to finish. My hairstylist, Diamond, did an amazing job on my hair. She was gentle, professional, and clearly knows what she’s doing when it comes to loc care. My hair came out looking so neat and refreshed. She even brought me a mimosa, which was such a nice touch and made the appointment feel extra relaxing. The whole environment was welcoming and comfortable. The price was $130, which I thought was really reasonable for the quality of service. It was also my birthday, so it felt like the perfect little treat for myself. I’ve been, going here since I started my local October 2 of last year. I actually looked them up prior to starting my locs, and I went multiple times to ask questions, in which they answered to the best of their abilities. Which made me want to solely go to the for my locs. Since the beginning I can say every single time that I’ve ever gotten my hair done. The service was always nice, everybody there is kind, atmosphere is amazing. It smells wonderful in there every single time I went there. I always leave with my hair either styled or just re-twisted. I feel great after. They’re considerate, very kind, they check on you periodically even if they have another client whose head they’re doing so that’s great considering the fact that sometimes you know you might be a little scared to speak

Came here twice, my first experience was fine, but the second time was awful. They ruined my hair and they're unbelievably rude and dirty. Staff was rude when I asked them for an estimate on how long it'd take to do my hair, and when she called the manager over the manager was even more rude and asked me if I had somewhere I needed to be. I was in the back room and there were roaches crawling around. I had to practically beg the stylist to adjust the clips on my hair because they were burning my scalp, and she didn't adjust them until another staff member told her to pay attention to me, so I left with slight burn marks on my scalp. I left because I had been there for hours and I had a long commute home, and I honestly just didn't want them touching my head anymore. My retwist was already

My name is Michelle Deveaux I've been following the Loc God Salon on Instagram for almost 3 years and today Tuesday February 17, 2026 was the first day I went to the salon in Harlem, and I was not disappointed, the receptionist at the front desk who's name is Ramona was very welcoming and helpful. The staff was friendly it was a very peaceful atmosphere, I also met the manager who's name is Leslie she was very friendly as well, the salon was also very clean that's a plus for me. My loctician Yacine did an excellent job on my locs my parts look nice and fresh, my hair looks beautiful I got alot of compliments. I will be coming to the Loc God on a regular basis every month or two. I left feeling really happy. Thank you. 💖

I took my daughter to the Edgewater location for starter locs, spent $475 + tip, and was treated unprofessionally and rudely by one of the stylist and the manager who I spoke with on the phone. First, our original appointment was for the week prior on a Sunday at 12p. On that Sunday at 1a, I received a text and email saying my appointment was changed to 3p? I called first thing in the morning to cancel and make sure they didn’t charge my card for cancellation, since they gave me such a short notice. I’m almost 2 hours away. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very nice, apologized, rescheduled me for next Saturday, and said she would send my daughter home with some free hair products for the inconvenience.
