I had one of the BEST experiences at The Loc District with Muva! I was trying a brand-new hairstyle and was a little nervous, but she was so patient, kind, and reassuring the entire time. She made me feel completely comfortable and took her time to make sure every detail was perfect. I walked out feeling confident, happy, and loving my new style! Afia, the owner, is just as amazing — so welcoming, professional, and clearly passionate about her clients and her team. You can really feel the love and care she’s put into this place. Amazing, friendly service and such great energy — I will 100% be back and highly recommend The Loc District for your loc maintenance and all around hair care.

The salon is very clean and welcoming, and I want to be fair by saying everyone I interacted with was kind. My stylist, Nana, was very nice, and another stylist, Muva Earth (who wasn’t even doing my hair) went out of her way to check on me, offer snacks and drinks, and make sure I was comfortable. Their hospitality really stood out, which is why this review is so hard to write. Unfortunately, the service I received left me extremely dissatisfied. I came in with a clear photo of the style I wanted for my birthday. While I expected the curls to be damp,which is why I left with rollers ,once I adjusted the style to the middle, I realized the entire inside of my ponytail was soaking wet.
