I had an absolutely terrible experience with Robyn from "The Rooted Chair." I visited early August for a haircut and the results were disastrous. As someone with 4c hair, I was concerned when she didn't detangle my hair after shampooing and conditioning and proceeded to cut it while wet⁠ - again - without combing through it! The aftermath was horrific - my hair was constantly tangled with endless knots and was noticeably uneven. I had so many questions for Robyn about her process and was so unhappy with my hair after she held up the mirror, but I didn't want to make it a big deal so I thanked her, paid, and left. I eventually found another stylist who knew what they were doing. They confirmed the poor condition of my hair, its unevenness, and had to cut off 3 inches to fix the damage⁠. F

Had a very poor experience when a stylist dyed my hair a completely different color (purple/red) when I specifically asked for only a root touch up/color match with several reference photos of the color (natural copper) on myself and others. The stylist offered to fix this error but failed to mention it would include bleaching my entire head which led to five different terribly unnatural shades of pink, red, and orange on my head that still did not even resemble my original hair color, as well as significant damage to and loss of my hair. Really wanted to like this salon, but it’s been a few months since my visit and my hair is still absolutely ruined which is devastating.

I was pretty nervous to dye my hair for the first time, but Billie did an absolutely amazing job! She did a natural looking, sun kissed balayage that I’m obsessed with! It’s exactly what I wanted. Bonus is that Billie is a joy to chat with, very friendly. Can’t wait to see her again in the future. Worth the money

I have been seeing Billie - one of the owners - for around 8 years now and I refuse to go to anyone else. She is THAT good. Not only is she a great hairstylist & person but she’s also an amazing business owner. Billie is the best! Her work is beautiful and natural and it always comes out better than you could even imagine. The salon is so cool and clean. The bowls/sinks they rinse your hair in is really comfortable unlike other salons.
