Refuses to cancel subscription. Can't cancel online without phone call, and they won't pick up or respond to emails. Finally got ahold of someone and they refused to cancel the subscription. I had to call my bank to blacklist this place and now I get paper bills in the mail. This is a fraudulent company do not subscribe. They are drowning and holding their subscribers hostage.
I called this morning to cancel my online subscription (with the Lee Enterprises managed FLS). I've done this before and knew there would be a slew of questions, better offers, and other delaying tactics, and this occurred on initiation of the call. I then I asked the individual simply to cancel my subscription and quit the sales tactics. Again she ignored me and continued the sales pitch. This cycle went on again and again, with the sales person ignoring my request to cancel each time. Finally in frustration I ended the call. Lee Enterprises has no method on the website to simply cancel the subscription, which requires this painful phone exchange. I'm lodging a complaint with BBB against these extreme sales tactics.
Been a loyal customer paying 70+ a month for many years. Many times over the past couple months we haven't gotten our paper. We have complained and called many times. Being told that our complaint will be "escalated". After the 5th time, we canceled. This was, at one point, a good investment. It is Not now. Look elsewhere guys. Much easier ways to get your news than this unreliable newspaper.
The reality of the physical format of the newspaper industry suggests the medium is dying a strangulated death. The biggest problem I have with the Free-Lance Star is the newspaper’s inability to STOP its insistent and arbitrary publication. I am currently working to remove ‘free’ service of the Free-Lance Star from my neighborhood. Over the course of four years, the newspaper continues to arrive at my house weekly and without anyone ordering it. Apparently, there is a subscription process, where people actually PAY for the newspaper. Why does the entire subdivision receive a newspaper when no one I personally know has a paid subscription? If they publishers give away with trite why is anyone paying for it? I have made several attempts to STOP this company from having the USPS stuff unwant
Not sure what's going on with getting my paper delivered everyday seem to only get it half of the time now. You call and they say today's paper will be there tomorrow (maybe). I see every once in awhile haveing a problem but this has been going on for a month now. I just want today's paper today that's what I paid for!
