The Body Innate: YinDojo, Qigong Classes, Somatic Education

Learning qigong in community with Jaye has helped me become more embodied and present in my life and to the world around me. In my body, I feel present to my posture, gaze and repetitive movements in ways I wasn’t before. While energetically I am learning to interact with my qi, notice and hold my boundaries, as well as when and how to rest. Qigong as a practice has completely captured me. I feel the elements, stories of our ancestors and natural forces coursing through me as I move. The way Jaye shares her wisdom while also welcoming in our own body wisdoms has been deeply transformative for me. I feel I am a part of a living tradition. As a student of hers I feel curious and bright to receive what learnings and experience she has to share while also feeling equally encouraged to explore

I moved to Santa Fe 2 years ago, and in my search for a local Thai bodywork practitioner, I found The Body Innate. In the time since our initial meeting, I had surgery on my shoulder for a full bicep and rotator cuff tear, and Jaye helped me retrieve a full range of motion. It has also been a great privilege to attend all of the seasonal Yin Immersions, Qigong, and lectures. I have learned a great deal about myself through the somatic movement practices and what I need to attend to and strengthen for my well-being. But there is so much more to Jaye and the Body Innate than the knowledge and care that is ever-present. Jaye is truly gifted in building community, and the Dojo is a place of divine energy, acceptance, and grace. I wholeheartedly recommend her!

I’ve had the fortune to experience many of Jaye’s offerings - her martial arts classes, the Yin Immersion series, Qigong, and her bodywork at the Yin Dojo, and I can vouch for the expertise and incredible care she takes in everything she does. Jaye is a valuable resource, especially in inner growth through somatic practice and the importance of the body as a gateway and resting place. Her bodywork helped me with a lot of pain I was having, and her Yin Immersion was just what I needed to reorganize mentally and emotionally from a big shift I was going through in my life.
