The Beauty Bar Hawai'i

I went there in April and I’m writing this review in Oct because I had the best experience at this place and I just booked another appointment recently and thought I needed to share. One of my friends was getting proposed to the next day so we wanted to take her to get her nails done. I don’t normally go to get my nails done or tend to do them myself with regular polish, I was really going to support the bride to be. I had the BEST experience I have ever had at a nail salon at the Beauty Bar in Kakaako. Firstly, our nails came out beautifully, she listened to all of my requests and had great input and was patient with me as I had a lot of questions. I could tell my tech had many years of experience. My gel nails lasted until I clipped it all off. Secondly, we just had a really great time.

Super clean and very nice job done! Highly recommended! Cozy salon and friendly staff.

OVER PRICED! Very disappointed that after a week my nails are already chipping. For the amount I paid I would expect them to last longer. Will not be returning here. UPDATE: a week and half later and now the gel on my toes are coming off 😒 charging 210 for low quality is ridiculous. Do not recommend going here.

I frequently do my own nails, and enjoy getting them professionally done on occasion. I wanted to try a local spot - it’s a cute little studio. Unfortunately the gel manicure started lifting and chipped within 48hr. Given the amount of lifting the manicure continued to chip the following day. I’m guessing they would have fixed it if I had reached out, but it wasn’t worth the hassle. When I do my nails myself they average 2w before this happens. Unclear what happened, but quite frustrating.

I was very happy with my DIP manicure with nail art. Terra is a master nail technician and perfectionist. I brought a picture of what I wanted and she duplicated it perfectly. It’s apparent that she really cares about her work and her family’s business. I also received very good customer service at Beauty Bar. I will definitely return when ever I’m in town 🌺
