I thoroughly enjoyed the in-person continuing education course at the Swedish Institute this past weekend. As a former Swedish Institute faculty member and someone who currently assists in teaching the Medical Massage CE Certification program, I deeply appreciate well-run, thoughtfully taught CE courses and the Swedish Institute consistently delivers. This weekend’s Fundamentals of Ortho-Bionomy: The Extremities course was a true pleasure. The subject matter was engaging and immediately applicable, and Rosa, our instructor, was outstanding. She is deeply knowledgeable, warm-hearted, and passionate about the work, and she held space beautifully for learning, questions, and exploration. Studying with her was genuinely enjoyable, and I absolutely plan to continue with more Ortho-Bionomy cou

I attended Swedish Institute for the Surgical Technologist program and graduated earlier this year. The teachers for this curriculum were great. I have to especially mention Mrs. Hicks who was also my Clinical Instructor during my rotation. She’s absolutely amazing, knowledgeable and talented. She really had our back during clinicals and made sure we were treated with respect. While I feel the teachers for this particular curriculum were all great, I think the administrative staff could have done a better job.

I graduated from the Swedish Institute in 1986. Of course things were very different back then, since it was a largely family owned entity. I had some of the best instructors on the planet then and have taken continuing education courses periodically over the years, including an upcoming course I'll be taking this year. From past to present, they've offered an excellent education and continuing ed opportunities for both new grads and alumni, to deepen knowledge and skill levels, add new techniques and maybe take some different in-depth career paths with an array of very advanced workshops. Highly recommend them!

I was genuinely considering attending this school, and my experience with my advisor started off very positive. Over time, however, the communication shifted. During several phone calls, the tone became unexpectedly harsh, and after I sent one detailed message explaining my situation, I did not receive any response for about a week. When the advisor eventually called, I missed the call due to an important commitment but returned it as soon as I could. The conversation that followed felt dismissive; I was told not to send long messages because “she didn’t have time,” even though it had only happened once. I also received text messages from the advisor around 2 a.m. on more than one occasion, which I never complained about, but the overall attitude in our later interactions left me feeling

As a recent graduate, I unfortunately cannot recommend this school. For the amount of money students pay, the majority of the learning ends up being self-taught. During my work-study experience, the only truly supportive connections I made were with certain lab instructors and a few genuinely kind staff members. The lab team is the strongest part of the program--they care, they teach, and they want students to succeed. Because of them, the program could have so much more potential. However, the academic side of the program is extremely lacking. Most professors do not actually teach, and online didactics should really be held in person. Students consistently feel dismissed or disrespected by some members of leadership. In my personal experience, Ms. April often spoke to students unprofessio
