I came to St. Joseph Catholic Church with a simple request: to have someone verify my homeless status so I could access free veterinary services for my sick dog. This verification didn’t require much—just an acknowledgment that I don’t have stable housing, which is clearly supported by my government ID (listing a government agency as my address) and mail I receive at another church. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. The women I spoke with were not only unwilling to assist, but they also seemed more focused on shutting me down than listening with compassion. A very spacious Catholic Church that has a cool and wide open atmosphere. The pastor and deacon are very nice people there. If you live in Barstow, this is your spiritual home for Catholics.

It's a very lovely Church.. I've been there for many funerals and some weddings as well.. I have relatives who live in Barstow. One of them, happens to be a deacon at the church. The church is brightly lit and the people are very friendly too.

I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. A 🐿️ squirrel ran up to me to say hi then continued to it's burrow. This is a peaceful place to pray and worship. Thanks be to God, for the serenity. Amen.
