Go for the massage. Enjoy the quiet and clean atmosphere. My nails are also very good: simple mani (no gel). Yes it's pricey but it's the location. Yes the owner decides who has to pay first, but the staff are very sweet, competent and don't forget -- the massage.
That day was a nightmare. I should never have gone to Niobe Nail Salon. A few months ago, my sister went there for Gel-X, but an employee named Jenny pushed her to get UV gel instead. It was expensive, uneven, and four nails fell off in two days. She warned me to stay away—and she was right. I went anyway because it was close to home. Jenny came over with a smile and offered to do my mani-pedi, and I couldn’t bring myself to say no. It was just a regular mani-pedi, so I thought it would be fine. The result was awful: messy shape, uneven color, and polish peeling by the next day. I will never go to Niobe again.
My daughter and I went for gel pedicures and chose an $85 spa pedicure each. When we went to pay, the bill was $273!! They said it was because they had to fix two nails that were broken, and that gel was extra on top of a regular pedicure. Never were we told about these up charges. Ridiculously expensive and just not worth it.
I hate leaving bad reviews but my nails are completely destroyed - pictures below are from 4 days after my manicure I got on Saturday (I removed the polish). All of my cuticles are torn. At one point during the manicure I was even bleeding and told her to stop since it hurt so bad. I also continuously asked her to stop buffing my nails since it was thinning them out so much. I wanted to love this place since it convient for me but I’m never going back!
They were overpriced for mediocre work. Cuticles weren't evenly pushed back, and the polish was unevenly distributed in one nail overlapping onto my skin. They made me pay before the job was done and mandated a 20% tip despite not asking the woman next to me to pay ahead of time. The massage was nice. Update: The nail polish on my fingers stated peeling a bit, and it hasn't even been a day!
