Customer Reviews
Let’s start with the positive: the people here are super friendly, and the facilities are clean and wonderfully decorated. The barbershop feels upscale. Now, the unfortunate news: I really wanted to love my haircut, but honestly, it turned out a bit off from what I was hoping. I got my hair cut with Francesca, and she is a wonderful person! She made me feel comfortable and was open to trying something new with me. Im an Asian male. I usually get a two-block cut for my hair, but this time I wanted to try something new. I wanted an Asian mullet / wolf cut. I came in prepared with some reference photos, and was looking to the stylists for a professional opinion on how it might look on my own face. I enjoyed talking through the cut and describing it to Francesca, she was very collaborative
Kae M. has done a very thoughtful job for me each time I'm in. I don't "enjoy" getting my haircut, but it takes the edge off when you know someone's giving you their best. I also don't like to gab during a haircut, preferring to let the professional focus on the task at hand. I appreciate being allowed to close my eyes and let her work, unencumbered by small talk. Also, Southpaw provides great services at reasonable prices, in an otherwise often exorbitantly expensive town.
It’s okay but definitely not your traditional barber shop. The vibe is very bougie and corporate (complete with coffee). Also apparently although it’s a “barbershop” there’s no male barbers, which if you’re a man and would like your bread trimmed by another male, this is *not your spot. One of the employees clipped my beard so weird that it took 3 months for it to grow back properly. I still paid full price and tipped for the service ($120) but I wish I had not. A truer more traditional shop I recommend is the Octopus Barber at the Grove. It’s less expensive and you’ll get the authentic experience.
I’ve been going to this place for roughly 7 years and it’s been a joy every time I almost look forward to it just to say hello. The very positive energy and overall vibes are just immaculate. They know how to take care of you and they’re so kind and friendly that it just feels like I’m visiting an old friend every time.
My first time coming here, very welcoming and very friendly service. Francesca the stylist who helped me with my haircut did an amazing job and really love the results! She even recommended me a product to go with my hair. Will be coming back when I’m ready for a haircut again!! :)
