Sophia's African Hair Braiding

Worst braids I’ve ever gotten. The Braider was braiding tight as hell. I asked multiple times for her to lighten up. Hair was sticking out of most of my braids the next day and I wrapped my hair up that night. There are braids with knots from too much hair being fed in. It took 7 hours. I witnessed them lie to a lady about the price then charged her $20 more than the agreed price. I took 2 braids down and full strands came out. I’ve now only had these braids in for two weeks and they look a mess. The braids look like the shop it came out of. Never again. I asked for some of my money back and they did give me $60 back but I should’ve got $100 back since my hair is falling out from braid that’s been in my hair for less than 2 weeks. They suck. They stopped doing my hair for an hour to speed up another client’s service as well as for the owner to leave and never come back. One lady with a pink scarf dug into my scalp with the rat tail comb numerous times and only stopped every once in a while after seeing me flinch. She continuously got hair stuck and mixed in other braids and would roughly pull the hair to separate it. They cut up towards the roots of my braids to “cut off flyaways”. My real hair was cut during the process. At one point it felt like my scalp was cut and when I returned home I realized I had a cut on my forehead. When I take the braids down I’m sure my hair will be cut into different lengths. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend unless you’re looking for a haircut. I have been coming here for years and recently i been noticing unprofessionalism to much lately few months ago I came here to get box braids when I was pregnant and I spoke to Sophia on the phone to make my appointment she told me $185 and once I got there and my hair was finished she tried charging me $200 I said but you told me it was $185 over the phone she end up saying ok and allowing me to pay the price she told me over the phone Today months later the same thing happened I booked my appointment on 2/6/26 for 2/7/26 I called asked the price of box braids like I always do and somebody on the phone told me $185 and to send a text confirmation over to the cell which I did and I received a message saying okay I get to my appointment Sophia is doing my hair and another young lady who br

I have got my hair braided here a total of 4 times. Very professional very neat always extremely cute. Wouldn’t go any where else

Very unprofessional, ladies barely speak when you walk in. Not polite or welcoming. They sat on the phone having loud conversations in my ear the entire time they were braiding my hair. They finished and left me in the salon area by myself without saying anything. I got home seen my hair and my braids were uneven, i had asked for butt length and one girl braided them the perfect length and the other gave me waste length. They didn’t tie the ends to prevent unraveling and they didn’t braid my braids down far enough. I drove 45 minutes the next day to get them fixed only to be greeted with nothing but attitude. I paid $250 and it was definitely not worth the hassle, the poor customer service, or the work honestly. Will never be returning and I highly DONT recommend.
