Sola Salons Carytown

I've been seeing Michele at Pigments & Fringe for several months now after hearing her wax poetic about "the geometry of hair" at a social event. I had recently had my "once every 18 months" butcher job done at a chain place and decided I was ready for a real stylist. I never learned about how hair works growing up, and Michele has been absolutely delightful in helping me! I see her every 4 weeks religiously now. She's taught me that my hair is actually curly and she has built so much confidence in me that was not there before. I get compliments on my hair all the time and I know it is partly because I feel so good in it! She's great with my ADHD and she does. Not. Charge. Enough. Seriously. $50 for a wash, cut, style, education, jokes, therapy, and the buckets of confidence I now carry

I had never been to a salon before, having always gotten my hair cut at small hometown hair cutteries. I stumbled upon Sola through Gmaps, & it is a conglomerate of individual salons which rent space. I just happened to find Elle Studios directly upstairs to the right, the only place lit. Margaret came right over & spoke to me about services. I had to schedule for a couple days later, but I found out they weren't really open, as it was Monday. Virtually all salons in CaryTown are closed on Mondays, but Elle accommodates schedules. Most Sola salons are individually run (I included a pic of map of businesses in Sola). Elle is unique. Doreen McCarthy cut my hair and did a great job. I wanted a different look this time and she always knows what to do. She takes her time and makes sure that it's perfect.

Michele Morris at Pigment and Fringe is the best hairstylist I’ve ever seen. She and her partner have curated a lovely, comfortable space. Michele is great at helping me understand my hair type and how to cut, color and manage it the best way for my lifestyle. I will never see anyone else for my hair if I have a choice!

Miriam is amazing! My eyebrows have looked great ever since i started coming here. She’s really sweet, gentle, and very accommodating. For the price, it doesn’t get any better. 100% recommend her.
