I go to this beauty supply store fairly often because it's close & it has lots of things for a beauty emergency in a pinch. I've gotten hair pins & hair bands, gel, leave-in conditioning spray, nail polish, press-on nails...things like that. Recently I decided to try a twist-out for the first time in years & I needed everything. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a pretty good selection of The Doux products & also a few Olaplex items, which was unexpected. Anti-blackness is definitely real in this neighborhood, so I'm not going to invalidate anyone's experience. But I've found the man who works there to be nice & helpful. I've been described as "aggressively friendly" & he seems reserved. Maybe I just forced him to be nice? He knows his hair products, though, I'll say that.

Staff here is always kind and helpful, store is always well kept

I have come here a handful of times and feel comfortable as an African American woman. They are polite and ask me if I need anything usually after I’ve walked around a bit. They have a pretty decent selection of items and the prices are cheaper on certain items that I’ve seen elsewhere.

I've been to this beauty supply store (including yesterday.. Friday, August 30th 2019) a handful of times because this is the closest one to my building. But every single time I come here, I'm made to feel like a thief because I'm black. Let's be honest about it. This area is predominantly Hispanics and the guy that walks around the store would rather watch me rather than approach me and attempt to help me. I'm over shopping at places that don't respect me. And they don't have a big selection of hair products for me anyway.

The most expensive beauty supply I’ve ever been to. They up charge products $5-$7 claiming they are a small business and that the additional amount they are charging is what you would pay in sales tax elsewhere but fail to mention that on top of their inflated price they are also taxing you. Would not recommend shopping here.
