Santa Cruz Sentinel

I subscribed to get the Sunday paper but did not receive it for 4 weeks. I had to call on 3 separate occasions in order for them to actually deliver the paper. It came for the next 3 weeks then stopped coming. So, I cancelled my subscription online thinking the process was over. However, I got charged 3 months after cancellation for ~$90. I had to call 3 times to get someone to answer and they were not very understanding. I did get a partial refund but overall it seems like a system setup to take people's money and then hope they do not notice. I cannot tell if they are malicious or just incompetent. EDIT: I did NOT get a partial refund. They just kept the money. I called again to ask for my money back but they said no. I honestly can't tell if what they are doing is illegal.

I purchased an on-line subscription. It cost 99 cents for the first month and $9.95 for each additional month (quite high for an on-line subscription). The first month just ended. I expected to see one charge on my bank statement for 99 cents. No, there were 12 charges of 99 cents to my bank account! That equals 11 unauthorized transactions! When I called them to inquire, they promised to refund all charges right away and cancel my subscription. No apologies, no anything nice, acted like that’s the way they do business!!When I checked my bank the next day, there were no credits. So I called the sentinel again. They were very rude, didn’t apologize and they hung up on me. However, they are still charging my bank account. I mentioned that these charges are criminal, they could care less. W

Yesterday's news! It appears that anything newsworthy that occurs in the late afternoon or evening is not in the next day's paper. Results of sports events, scores of NBA games...not there till 2 days after the fact...political rallies...not covered for 2 days....Also the rainfall is often inaccurate..Can anyone believe that Capitola's rainfall is 0 previously and now NA for season to date. The ONLY reason we keep this paper is for local, tho late, news. Otherwise it's really a waste of paper

I just started my subscription on Wednesday the 23rd & got a paper on Thursday as promised. Than on Friday & Saturday NO PAPER & I can’t talk to anybody until Monday. THIS is not how to run a business!!! WTH? Do not charge me for these 2 days. You used to be able to speak to somebody when a paper wasn’t delivered. Also, I can barely understand your voice system to hear my options when I called. Come on, people, get it together!! I’m going to be upset if I don’t get s paper tomorrow, one of the ressond I signed up was to get a Sunday paper. If this continues I’ll not be able to subscribe anymore.

we have been subscribers to the sentinel for at least forty plus years. recently we have not recieved delivery consistantly for the last two months. today will be the eleventh time we have not recieved a paper in one month. PLEASE
