I had my first appointment at Maeda with Hannah Pierce today and I could not be happier with my service! I have had not-so-great haircut experiences in the past and have been hesitant to do anything with it, but finally after lots of research decided to take the leap and book an advanced haircut with Hannah. I had the absolute best experience! Hannah did a full consultation with me and was so knowledgeable not only about how to achieve the cut and style I was wanting, but also was able to educate me on changes I can make to my routine and products that would be helpful in order to get the best results for my hair. I have been seeing Ethel to cut and style my seriously thick, coarse hair with amazing results! I appreciate that Ethel takes her time and communicates about the cut along the way. It seems that all the stylists at Maeda are very talented and approach each client the same way--carefully, respectfully, and enthusiastically! If you want an alt haircut especially, this is the place to go. The salon is adorable and I love the atmosphere. One of the best salon experiences I've ever had...and I usually hate salons. Highly recommend!

My first appointment couldn’t have gone better. The whole space feels safe, inclusive, and totally judgment-free. The vibe is real and artsy—none of that forced customer-service energy and zero pressure to buy anything. I usually avoid salons because my social anxiety is no joke, but Hannah made me feel comfortable right away. She gave me an experience that was actually thoughtful and personalized. She’s creative, smart, informative, and genuinely herself. I’ve got long wavy/curly hair, and she brought my curls to life—more bounce, more definition, and somehow softer than ever. The color looks natural and gorgeous. I can’t hype up Salon Maeda and Hannah enough. This was exactly what I needed, and I’m not going anywhere else.

Absolutely amazing. Hannah Pierce is a fantastic artist. She listened to me and my issues with my hair and gave me advice on how to work with its natural texture. She also gave me one of the best cuts I’ve ever had. So happy I chose to give this salon a try. The salon itself is clean, comforting, and cozy. Great music. The vibes are S tier. 100/10. I’ve seen Emma monthly for the past three months for facials (and am going to keep going monthly for the foreseeable future) and she is single handily fixing my skin. The progress she’s achieved with my face is truly phenomenal. She’s also helped curate a skin routine that has helped support my skin outside of these appointments with things that have helped my skin heal. I cannot speak highly enough of her and her services. She is incredible!!!!!
