Went in to get a bob done by Mindy. I cut off over 10 inches for this haircut and left very displeased with the results. I asked for it to be thinned and have layers for movement because I have thick hair. I left with layers that looked like steps and were completely uneven between the two sides. She didn't even finish my hair with blow drying or styling it and just rushed me out to get to her next client. She continued to blame my hair being straight or wavy in parts or thicker in parts for it looking horrible. I respectfully asked for a refund as I did not feel comfortable having her touch my hair again to fix it and she did eventually refund me after some back and forth. This was my first time at the salon, and Mindy cut my hair. She was wonderful. I have very, very fine hair and had tried cutting it myself (including bangs … oh no!), and she was so kind, understanding, and caring while fixing it. She really listened and made me feel comfortable the whole time. You can tell she truly cares about her clients, and she turned a tricky situation into a positive experience. Great haircut, less-than-ideal situation handled beautifully. Highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back.

Mindy Martinez is the best. If you’re in Lake Oswego or West Linn and looking for a stylist who truly gets it, you need to book with Mindy — full stop. For almost a year, I have never — not once — walked out with a bad haircut. Mindy is that rare combination of wildly talented and incredibly patient. She listens. Like, really listens. Whether I come in with a clear vision or a half-baked idea I found scrolling at midnight, she takes the time to talk it through and make it work for me. I have been getting my hair cut from Suzanne for about 8 years now and not only does she do an excellent job every time, but she has gone above and beyond by teaching me how to style and care for my curly hair. She is very honest about what styles and products work best for your texture and length, and a very kind and passionate person.

I stand by my 1 star review as it was made after my sister (See Rachael Pentico's review) was initially denied a refund by Mindy and told that her hair was to blame. Mindy said that after cutting off 8 inches of her client's hair she couldn't believe the texture would change and that's the reason for the worst haircut my sister has ever experienced. Mindy fought to blame my sister's and keep her money. Mindy finally apologized and fully refunded Rachael. My review is a warning that Mindy didn't cut Rachael's hair well, victim blamed and gaslit her until bad reviews came in. I was never a client of Mindy's, I highly recommend looking at the other 1 star review for her. The website says she does color and makeup, she shouldn't have accepted a haircut appointment.
