Safia African Hair Braiding

Very unsatisfied! We called many different stylists today looking for an open walk in. This was one of the only places available without outrageous prices. So here’s my review. Their combs, capes, and etc. are NOT CLEAN! After reading reviews I agree with the ones that said there was SO much product used. The first picture is what was shown to the stylist. (Not safia, her sister) the second is what she did. (after asking TWICE is she was doing what the picture showed) Look again at the 2nd photo; see the pieces of colored hair that was braided in because the lady was using a comb that was previously used on another client and NOT CLEANED. How do I know this? Well there was a comb sitting on a stool with someone else’s hair in it. Then wads of feed in hair that was yellow and pink were on

I read the reviews for this shop and it’s the only reason I went to begin with. I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted and she proceeded. I then stop her because I felt that she was not doing what I wanted and asked “ You are doing the style I showed you, right?” ( of course not!) that lady was doing whatever she felt and I paid her! My usual stylist was unable to do my hair that day and after I expressed how I felt about the experience @ Sofia’s; She apologized and braided my hair exactly as I wanted, free of charge!

Not only was she late by almost an hour. This was after I called because no cars was there when I arrived. Remind me she gave me the time, which was 9am on a Sunday. I missed church and everything. I asked for medium kinky twists which ended up being a shorter version of Senegalese twists. She also stopped several times without warning only to find out the last time it was to pray. Which I don’t mind but you could have told me there would be constant 20 minute plus breaks. Braids ended up coming out along with my hair(my edges are thin now.) Style lasted about 3 weeks. Will never recommend or go to again

I would not recommend this place as it is very unprofessional. My appointment was at 11am she didn't show up until 11:30am. Started to braid my hair and left for 30 mins during the process to take her son to work. I asked for med sized shoulder length braids. Braided my hair small to the middle of my back. I explained that this was not the style I asked for. They also agreed with me I was right about what I asked for but overcharged me because they felt that's how my hair should have been braided. Throughout the process I have nothing against anyone's religion. They stopped an additional two times to pray. After sitting for hours they argued with me about the style size and length I did not ask for!!! Please do not go here I don't recommend it at all!!! The worst experience of all time is

They do excellent work. This is my second braiding. The technician was friendly. The prices are reasonable. Hair is included wash is not. Parking is limited. Call 15 mins before so they are waiting on you. Be clear on the style and price you want. I pay in cash. They should consider automating appointments and receipts. I would visit them again.
