Ritual Hair Studio

Let me just preface this by saying I haven't had a professional hair cut in more years than I can remember. I usually wake up with a chip on my shoulder and just hack at my hair until I feel better. My daughter made this appointment for me as a Christmas gift because being a new hair stylist herself, she knows exactly what I am unhhh... Not capable of. She did some research about Portland because we are not from here and settled on ritual, because she thought I would feel comfortable and after talking with stylist she was confident they would do a good job. She was right. Dakota makes you feel right at home, in fact the shop itself is very "home-y". He asked what I wanted and most importantly what I liked about my hair. I had such a wonderful experience working with Dakota for a completely transformative haircut! I was nervous and unsure, but Dakota is confident, skilled, knowledgeable, and very safe/affirming to work with while finding a style to best suit your personal expression! The atmosphere of the shop was quite relaxing and personal. Very happy that I found Ritual and will be returning!

I got my hair cut by Rowan yesterday, and she did an amazing job. It's the first time I've been able to wear short hair - other stylists have always made it look goofy with my face. Her conversation was entertaining and she took her time with the cut. I also saw what Dakota was up to, and he was doing a great job, too! If you have long hair, textured hair, etc., don't be afraid to give this studio a try even if Google has it labeled as a barber. Both of them are super talented and kind and the atmosphere of the studio is perfect.

I haven't gotten my hair cut professionally in about 7 years so I was nervous, but Dakota was super sweet and welcoming! He did an awesome job with my bangs and I've literally never looked better!
