Usually I don’t bother writing reviews, but I’m feeling a little sentimental today and missing the old State College routine. I’m living out in Altoona now, but I still hop in the car and drive back just to see Jeff. Known the guy for years. He’s steady, honest , and flat-out the best barber I’ve ever had. No fancy stuff, just a good clean cut and some real conversation. Yeah, the shop used to have a barbers who didn’t exactly make folks happy, and some reviews show it. But that’s all long gone. It’s just Jeff running the show now, and the place is better for it. Only downside is he’s doing everything by himself. They just don’t have enough barbers, and he’s working his tail off trying to keep up. If you want a dependable, old-school haircut from someone who actually cares, Rinaldo’s is

Whoever cut my hair spent less than 15 minutes from the time I entered the place till my cut was done, he did an horrible job, I had to fix my sideburns at home, he didn’t shave the peach fuzz on the sides and back of my neck, and on top of that he didn’t do the one thing I asked, cut the top short and keep length on the sides and back. For 40 bucks I expect a lot more, and can get a lot more at various other places. Would not recommend, and will never go again.

Just as great as it ever was. I came here before for special occasions 25 years ago as a cadet. I'm back living in the area and stopped in the other day at lunch, happy that all the students were still on break. Anthony was awesome.

The hair dressers I’ve had here don’t cut curly hair very well at all and have even put product in my hair that was only intended for straight hair. This was not just a one time experience either, I received multiple haircuts here before I had to look elsewhere. I also had a hair dresser make very uncomfortable and unprofessional insinuations about poor people abusing welfare. Hardly the time or place for politics to be pushed on you. Another staff member was also extremely nasty to me for no reason. I’m sure other reviewers are talking about the same worker I am. These people have ZERO respect for the people who keep the place in business and the quality of their haircuts is proof of that.

First time and last time I will patronize this business. I sat down in the chair, told the woman what I wanted, and she laughed and said she had never heard of my request before (despite it being a fairly common cut).She made a joke about my request and I tried to explain the cut. instead of asking for further clarification or trying to better understand, she quickly went to work. Ultimately, the cut she gave me didn't look particularly bad, but it certainly wasn't what I wanted and was much, much shorter than what I had in mind. She was very hasty with her work and nicked me several times, and had very little regard for my comfort in general.
