Rafaels Barbershop Vintage NYC

I had an awesome experience at Rafael’s Barbershop Vintage. The vibe is super cool, with that classic vintage feel that makes you feel right at home. Rafael is a pro through and through—took his time to get my cut just right and really listens to what you want. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does. The place has a relaxed, old-school charm that makes it more than just a haircut, it’s a whole experience. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in need of a fresh cut and a chill atmosphere!

Rafael is hands down one of the very best barbers in the city. His obsession with detail & making sure that every haircut is only the very best is why I've been coming to him since moving to the city. A great guy to talk to as well! Thank you Rafael!

I went in for a simple razor shave and beard line-up. I gave very specific instructions: do not cut the beard itself—just clean up the lines around it. He did the exact opposite. He took clippers to my beard and chopped off roughly 80% of the length. I told him I want the beard line itself wide and showed him exactly where I want the line to be, but he made the beard line way too narrow. Terrible attention to detail throughout, and the result looked nothing like what I asked for. To make it worse, I was quoted $55 but got charged $70 on the way out—after my beard was already ruined. I’ve paid $35 in NYC for excellent work, so the price here is way out of line for the quality delivered. Bottom line: stay away. There are much better—and more fairly priced—barbershops nearby. What a full service place. Rafael does both beard shape and straight razor. Natalia does only beard shape. I went and got the best of both worlds. Face massage was beautiful. He’s such a character!!! Great experience…

Should be called Rafael’s butcher. Butchered by the lady here. Came in with medium-long hair hoping to get a trim and shape up. Asked the woman if she is good with long hair which she assured me she is. Showed her a photo of my hair from my last cut and told her scissor cut, just a trim and shape up. Not sure where communication went wrong but she cut off way too much. She whipped out the buzzer and used it on the first inch of the bottom and then procceeded to cut off Months of growth. Not what I asked for. I had to at several points tell her to stop cutting off any length and just clean up. Super disappointed.
