Punch Up Barber Shop

Really impressed by my first visit at Punch Up today. From the moment I walked in, the vibes were very comfortable and friendly. The waiting area is very warm and colorful, with ample seating. Bruce cut my hair today and he did a great job of asking what I wanted, having follow up questions, as well as being detailed and precise. On top of a great cut, I really enjoyed my visit today because I felt very safe and welcomed as a queer person. I had never gone to a barber before, and my visit today made me excited to come back again and recommend to others. Thanks Punch Up - see you again soon! ☺️

Great experience. Ryan did a great job with my 2yo son for his first haircut; he was super patient and gentle and the haircut turned out great! Also did a stellar job on my hair and beard as well. Appreciated that the shop had toys and candy for the little kids. Was a very clean, comfortable, and relaxing atmosphere, and everyone was incredibly nice. Will definitely be back.

I’ve been going to Davis for over a year now, and every time he never fails to create a welcoming environment and consistently exceeds my expectations. I really appreciate how I can give him a general idea for a haircut, and he always takes it to the next level, delivering the best outcome he thinks will look great—and he’s never let me down. If you’re in the Grand Rapids area, I highly recommend checking out this place and asking for Davis!

This is THE barbershop in GR. I’ve bounced around to a few different shops over the last 2 years and this will be the one I stick with. Bruce was spot-on with what I asked for and he was great to talk to. I got in early and was in the chair right away. Bruce took the time to walk through what I was envisioning for my first cut with him and he delivered. The environment is top tier - it’s quiet but it has a ton of personality. And the pricing is as fair as it gets. I would absolutely recommend this shop. EDIT: Had to come back and add to my previous review. Bruce and everyone one at Punch Up are legitimately the best. They are kind, welcoming and good at what they do. Oh and for anyone with a knack for films, Bruce is a creative genius. You have ask about some of his projects!
