Platinum Barber Shop & Shave Parlor

I have visited this place numerous times over the past decade. I scheduled an appointment for 9:00 am, which was meant to be at 10:30, but I called at 9:30 to cancel and ended up being charged a cancellation fee. There were 6 other available slots that day that I could have chosen from. I was informed that I had taken a time slot that could have been offered to another customer, despite the availability of those 6 other openings. The haircuts are generally acceptable, though there are times when they are not up to par. Be ready to hear complaints about life in general. If Tyler decides to respond to this post, it would likely be a defensive reaction.

First things first: if youve never been here, the first photos that come up on the business page are of the old location off of 28. Though the old sign remains, that is not the current location. Make sure you put the location address (which is clearly posted on the booking website) in your gps, and dont go off photos and just assume you know where it is (like I did 😂). New location is hard to find, So just text or call ahead of time if you cant find it. My son is not the greatest at sitting for haircuts, as they are a sensory nightmare for him. Tyler was absolutely wonderful in navigating a kid that wouldn’t stop moving, and at one point was licking the hair off the cape and then complaining he had hair in his mouth. I saw that this Barber shop had good reviews, so I decided to try it out. The staff was friendly, but I'm not happy with the cut. I got a skin fade that was not blended. I was also bleeding all over the back and side of my head. I've never been in this much pain from a skin fade. Had to go to supercuts in concord to fix up this haircut. I hate giving negative reviews, but I want to prevent this from happening to anyone else. I urge you to think twice before getting a skin fade here.

I really enjoy my visits with Tyler at the Platinum Shop. It's easy to find, right there on 28 southbound in the same strip mall as Parkers Restaurant. It's clean. Bright. And he does the entire job for you. Shave. Haircut. Trim your moustache or beard. His dog(s) are usually inside in a very large kennel. He speaks freely & intelligently while he gives you personal attention to help you look as good as you can. Try him one time & you'll keep going back.
