Pigtails & Crewcuts: Haircuts for Kids - Annapolis, MD

We took our son here for his first haircut. He was in love with the place and the fire engine. They overall did a great job catering to him and helping him be okay with this new experience. The staff was friendly and did pretty well with him. He can be a bit wild at times but did a great job sitting for her. When checking this place out remember, they are stylists not barbers. The price was about $40 for a trim. She did take a chunk out unevenly but it's hair and will grow back and for a 2 year old I half expect it. Not sure I'll return but was a good first haircut experience.

We had such a great experience with Saadia! She was so kind and patient with our 16 month old for his first haircut. He didn’t cry or fuss at all despite usually not being a fan of strangers. Highly recommend her! I originally scheduled for first available and had Mavel scheduled. I then read reviews and saw negative comments so I quickly canceled and rescheduled with Saadia. Boy am I glad I did.. I witnessed Mavel not only show up late to work but also saw her carelessness in what she does. My heart hurt seeing the experience that another family got for their child’s first haircut compared to ours because of her. To the owners, please do better at hiring people who are actually kid friendly. As long as Mavel is an employee we won’t be returning.

Saadia did a wonderful job with our 19 month olds first hair cut! She worked quickly and was so kind. His haircut is absolutely adorable! She did a scissor cut and shaped his hair nicely. Highly recommend!

Avoid Mavel like a plague! She was set and scheduled to give my youngest his first haircut, and from the moment we walked in she kept telling us how we were late and she couldn’t cut his hair, that we had to wait for her next client to be a no show. She finally sat my son in a chair and he was scared (his first time being in a hair salon it’s a given he’d be scared) but she did nothing to calm him down. She didn’t really speak to him or anything. She asked what kind of haircut I was looking for him to get. I stated loudly 2 times that I wanted him to get a combover. She spoke to my mother in Spanish asking her what I wanted for my son so I said it again in Spanish yet she couldn’t get it right. She left his hair uneven using clippers on the top of his head and around it . He was wiggling a

My son had an amazing first hair cut experience with Saadia! She was super sweet, patient, and made our time in the salon very enjoyable!
