Open Hair Space

I had an appointment on Wednesday 17th of December with Laura at 10 am. I wanted to have my hair bleached and go as bright a blonde as I could without compromising my hair. I already had parts of my hair colored blonde, so she had to be careful with those parts. While she did make a point to use sections, it did not seem like she was as cautious as she could’ve been. She left the bleach in my hair for at least 2 hours without washing it out. Then, when she was washing my hair out she didn’t realize the chair could adjust in height, and I am short, so it was very uncomfortable. When she was done with washing it, and I was going back to the station, I lightly ran my hand through my hair, and large chunks of hair came out, which freaked me out. I've been going to Open Hair Space (and previous salon name) for more than five years. In addition to the truly excellent hair services, I very much appreciate their approach to making their space accessible for as many people as possible. I also like the friendly collaborative vibe among the stylists. all in all, just a great place to go! signed, someone who used to hate getting their hair cut.

Amazing! Kait truly listened to all of my thoughts and explained what she was doing and why. She took a tailored approach to my hair type instead of doing a one-size-fits-all method. I felt incredibly comfortable, and she was easy to talk to. I will be back :) Also, the pricing was extremely reasonable, I didn’t know I could get a quality haircut for such a good price.

So glad I got paired with Caley when I walked in to Open Hair Space looking for a change. Caley listened so well to me while I explained what I needed from my haircut. I asked for something low maintenance, both on a daily and an ongoing basis, and Caley gave me the best haircut on my life. She cut my hair dry and dirty, so I knew it’d look even better when it was clean and styled. Caley was completely right about going lighter, and the balayage she did looks like my hair but just better. I’ve had plenty of experiences at hair salons where I just left feeling a little underwhelmed, or like the stylist felt I should want or be something I’m not. Caley made me feel seen and at ease. I’m so grateful I’ve met her: I know exactly who to call the next time I need a hair change. Thank you, Caley!

People come to a business for service, not political statements posted on the door. Mixing politics into the customer experience feels unnecessary and unprofessional. Regardless of personal beliefs, political messaging in a customer facing environment can make people feel uncomfortable or unwelcome.
