New Look African Hair Braiding

Despite the mixed reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I called in ahead to make sure that they take walk-ins and to get a quote on havanna twists. They told me that there was no line, no wait and it would be $180. When I got there, the shop was quiet and clean. Three ladies worked on my head and got it done in about 4 hrs. When it was all said and done, they upped the price to $190 because of my hair being so thick. That's my only reason for not giving them 5 stars. But overall the ladies were polite, the work turned out nicely, and its still holding up well after a few weeks.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! Had to wait almost an hour before she started on my hair which took 9 hours. Then a little over a week later a LOT of braids started coming loose so I went back up there. She tried to argue with me first lie was I had it done 2 weeks ago until I showed her I called her the morning I got my hair done 2nd lie it looks like I washed it so I asked her why the hell would I wash it after just getting it done? so then the heffa says that its after 7days & that you should be able to tell within a week if braids are coming out or are loose I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN AND AM WARNING EVERYONE NOT TO GO TO THIS PLACE!!!

Please do not go to this place for crotchet braids. First, only the owner knows how to speak 50% of English. Everyone else speaks only about 10% because they did not do anything what I asked. They didn't even ask where I wanted my part. The two girls that worked on my head the first time, talked too much and kept stopping to talk and eat. One girl was pregnant so I can understand her constant interruptions to the bathroom. The other girl just talked entirely too much. Come to find out, they of course did a half a** job on the back of my hair. Meaning it wasnt as much hair in the back as the front because after they got tired of doing nothing to my head, another lady finished the top. In the end, I looked like a mop and I have to go to work like this as well as an event. I Hate THIS PLACE

I had an appointment set for 9am. I came to the shop on time and someone was already in the chair. I noticed there was only one person working. I asked the lady that was doing the hair, how long do I have to wait? At first, she act like she didn’t hear me. I said it again, she said an hour and half. I told that woman I had an appointment at 9. I shouldn’t have to wait. I told her I’m going somewhere else and they are very unprofessional. The woman didn’t say a thing else to me and I walked out. Ladies, please don’t go there. They are unprofessional and rude! The reviews for this place is true!!!!! I was trying to give them a chance but I understand why the reviews were so terrible.

I have never waited so long to get my hair braided in my life! I always get singlese twist so I told them I wanted the Havana Twists(a much bigger form of the singlese twist) I had a hard time communicating but she made it seem as if she understood what I wanted. They put singlese twist in my hair anyway as if they didn't care what I requested. Too many breaks were taken as well. I came in soon as the shop open and didn't leave till 8:30pm! When I woke up I had a braid slip out. I ignored it but my braids continued to come out just by me styling it(pinning it up etc.) I called to ask to have my braids replaced and they thought I was going to pay. Tuh never again
