Stopped by for a haircut from out of town and was pleasantly surprised. From the DC area and it is difficult to find a relatively decent haircut without having an appointment and paying $40 or more. Found Jackie in the first chair and saw her style on a client. I requested her as the stylist and I did not regret it. Great attention to detail and a pleasurable experience overall. In and out in 45 minutes with the wait. This place is 100% cash only (no venmo/zelle) and features an old school hot shave. If I am ever back in town, I'll be sure to stop by again.
I’m disappointed in the direction the barber shop has gone over the past 2 years. The only good talents left, Andy and Vince, both of whom were amazing barbers at this establishment. They were friendly and you could tell they had a passion for their job. Ever since Vince and Andy left, the only barbers left are mediocre with piss poor attitudes. Today I walked in and I immediately there was a negative aura in the air. While I was getting my hair cut they talked badly about their coworker who left to use the bathroom, Vince and Andy would never. The barber I had today had ginger hair, watch out. She was incredibly rude and had a negative aura about her. She had 0 customer service skills and would give grotesque looks while cutting my hair. Her only redeeming quality was that she could give
Worst haircut ever. I asked for a low taper blended in to the top of my hair, and i clearly said to take an inch off the top. Instead my barber proceeded to take a 3 guard around the entire sides of my hair, and cut off less than a centimeter off the top, leaving many portions uncut. I expected a better haircut but when the barbers think they know better than the customer it is truly wrong. I know what looks good on me yet the barber took my hair into his own hands and messed it up. God forbid they ever mess up that bad. The only time I’ve ever gotten a good haircut was from a newbie who took his time. I pray for anyone who gets a haircut from this place.
They did a great job with my hair while being a first-time customer. I will say that a lot of my friends have had mixed results from this place, but as long as you're specific with what you want, it will turn out fine. The price is also reasonable at $23 with a nice student discount that brings it down to $21 from Mondays through Thursdays.
Unfortunately have tried this barbershop three times and left each one still disappointed. The staff each time have been quite unskilled, and it's been a challenge to communicate effectively regarding requests. For the price it's unreasonable the level of service. Will not be coming back again.
