Metcalf Barber Shop

There aren’t too many of these guys around anymore, a good, old fashioned, comfortable barber shop. Too many places rush you in and out these days, planting into a random chair of a stranger. Metcalf Barber Shop is a place where your barber will know you, and you will feel like it’s YOUR place while you’re there. It’s a little hidden, but if you can find the Kansas City Racquet Club, you’ll find it directly across the street. 91st street between Metcalf and Lamar - between the StorageMart and Lamar. It’s one of the nicest holes in the wall that you will find.

Went here for the first time this morning and I'll definitely be going back. They're great! Very affordable and great service. Ed was awesome! Highly recommended!

Update 12/25: Five chairs waiting for your hairs! Update 12/23: These guys have been keeping us looking great for years now, make an appointment today! Old: Great barber shop for my boys and me! Tried cutting my boy's hair during the recent plague, but there is nothing like getting a pro cut! Their hair hasn't looked this good in months! Thankful these guys are close, open, schedule easily, and fair-priced. Highly recommend!

Been going to Metcalf Barber Shop for many years and seen by the same barber the whole time, Jimmy. Started going to this business way back when they were Metcalf 103 Barbers out on 105th. Great atmosphere of classic barber shop just as you would expect. High quality and consistent hair cuts. Beard trimming is very good too. Very friendly and always willing to chat about anything the customer wants to talk about. May not always agree with you, but always willing to listen in a courteous manner (something becoming rare). Prices very reasonable and rarely increase (vs rip-offs at styling salons). Good parking and easy to get to. Highly recommended!!

Must have an appointment. Very reasonable price (cash or check) and good company. Update: These guys are great, scheduling on relatively short notice, giving my 7 & 10yr old boys sharp hair cuts. After years of service, the boys are certainly learning the art of friendly barbershop banter! 😀
