May’s Wellness Spa

Today was a beautiful day! I surprised my husband with a couples spa day for his birthday at May’s. We did couples massages, rose scrubs and facials. This was our first visit but definitely not our last. The spa was easy to find, had great parking and is right in the heart of Monterey with plenty of places near by to eat and visit to make it a special day. The moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcoming hello from May herself. The spa is so relaxing inside with a beautiful water feature as you walk in, comfortable seating and very clean. The services were spot on! I prefer a soft massage and my husband a deep tissue. Both of us got exactly what we needed. I went on a week day morning with my partner for a one hour couples massage. We booked the day before on their website which was easy to navigate. Location was also easy to find and had great parking. The rooms were very cold along with the sheets. The rooms did not have any essential oils or humidifiers and did not provide a relaxing environment. The massage itself is honestly the biggest problem. The same person who checked us in was the lady doing my partners massage. My massage started on time and my partners was about 10 mins later (we were in the same room). Amazing massage! I love seeing May, the owner, for my deep tissue massages as she is one of the best. May knows how to apply just the right pressure and she can expertly work knots and tension out of my muscles. She is kind, polite, and has a sweet demeanor. Recently, I saw a new massage therapist at this same business named Amber who is now my new favorite. I have never had a better massage than with Amber! She applies her knowledge of acupuncture and pressure points to be able to work into tension like no other... 10/10 massage! Highly recommend either therapist!

May and Quan are warm and friendly. Quan has given me the best deep tissue massages that I've ever had in 40 years of massages. The rooms are clean and quiet with soft relaxing music in the background. Lovely place!

I pulled something in my shoulder/neck and desperately needed a massage. She got in there and it was wonderful. It's not 100% but I definitely left with some relief. Thanks so much
