Marty C. the Barber of: Sonoma Barber & Shave Company

I was looking for a first time Beard barber. I chose to grow a longer beard but I did not have a proper concept of what I wanted. First attempt on finding a pro was a success. Marty will be my only choice to take care of my beard. He was intuitively asking and making recommendations that seemed to meet my hopes. The service was effective, efficient and pampering. My beard went from crazy to molded. Only concern is that Marty will get too busy to get an appointment.

Marty is an awesome barber. He has such great talent and skills and understands what I need each time I visit. He is also very pleasant to chat with and I trust him. I recommend strongly that you visit Marty for a haircut and beard trim.

There's only 2 types of professionals you follow when they move across town to hang their shingle elsewhere: a good mechanic and a good barber. The reason being because, frankly, they are very rare and once you get a good one, they are worth the journey. Marty C. is one such professional. I've been a customer of his for years in Oregon, and he is the consummate professional, is a master of his craft (seriously, who else mixes and creates their own hot towel aromatherapy?), takes good care of his clients, and never does anything less than an outstanding job. Now that Marty's left the Pacific NW, I'm having a hard time finding a suitable replacement. Marty is the best barber I’ve ever come across. Got it perfect every time for 6 years straight. I would drive over an hour every month just so he would cut my hair and my 5 year old son’s hair. He’s a master with anything beard related. If I had the money to fly down to California just to have Marty cut my hair, I’d do it without hesitation.

Marty is the best! This is the second haircut I’ve had with Marty and I can hands down say they are the best cuts I’ve ever had. He’s a great dude, knows his stuff, and makes the whole experience not feel like a chore. My last cut was right after Christmas and I also tried the hot towel shave. I had only had this done one previous time maybe a decade ago and it was a terrible experience. I have pretty sensitive skin and get razor burn easily and was tore up the first time, but not with Marty. He’s a pro! Great process, was actually relaxing and enjoyable, no nicks, and sharp lines. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. If you live in Santa Rosa you are lucky that you can be a regular, but even if you don't it's worth a trip!
