Maria Tucci Hair Design

I've lived in Utica for less than a year, so had no idea where to go to get my hair colored. It's long, mostly white but with salt-and-pepper streaks that I wanted to blend in. Maria Tucci Hair Design turned out to be a perfect match; Maria is kind, welcoming, and an expert at her craft. She understands color and knew how to achieve what I was hoping for. The salon is beautiful and the atmosphere warm and cozy. Grateful to have found a gem.

Maria’s hair salon is a great little gem in Utica! She and her team took me as a walk-in and washed, highlighted, and dried my hair in under two hours. Maria paid extremely close attention to detail! I don’t think anyone has ever fooled my entire head of hair before! Everything came out even and gorgeous! Classy shop, professional yet fun atmosphere, and wonderful staff! Everyone worked together like family (which Maria and Gina are)! I love this place! 🥰

I am so thrilled with my color and cut. This was my first visit to Maria and her team after years of mediocre cuts and colors elsewhere. She fixed the damage that was previously done to my hair and I showed her an image of how I wanted my hair to look. Not only did she make the image a reality, but she did it better. I feel beautiful, like someone really listened to my concerns. I won't be going anywhere else. I came here with a hot mess of a situation. I had at least 3 different old dyes in my hair as well as an uneven bleach job. It was a disaster! I didn't know how well anyone would be able to fix it. When she was done with my hair though, I LOVED the result!! It was beautifully even and a white/platinum blonde. The photos really speak for themselves. You would never have been able to tell what a disaster it was before. Plus, Maria and her staff were very nice and me feel at ease. I strongly recommend getting your hair done here for a fair price and excellent quality!!

PROS - the staff was kind and friendly (at first) and she did a great job with my eyebrow and lip wax. CONS- You be the judge by the pictures! My main purpose for going to Maria was for highlights. I showed her pictures of what I didn't want and pictures of what I did want and stressed my dislike for the tiger strip, stringy highlights. I explained that I wanted everything to blend nicely. She used the cap method- which made me question her skill from the very beginning but I stayed hopeful thinking she would perform a root smudge at least. That was not the case. My hair came out exactly the way I was scared it would. They were terrible. Like, go home and sob to your husband kind of terrible. I called the salon back and expressed that I was dissatisfied. She had me come back later that day
