I normally do not write reviews however today's experience was exceptional. I've been in Houston for 13 years and I've been to many shops but none of them compare to Mandela Hair braiding. I'm very specific about my hair and my expectations were exceeded. I absolutely love my hair and so does everyone else who's seen me since I left the shop this evening. I will be bringing my daughter by to be blessed by these young women's hands. Absolutely impeccable work. I sat with this pleasant lady today and she did an outstanding job on my knotless boho hip length braids!! I love how she takes her time making parts to hair ratio perfect!!! My experience with the owner Fatima today was exceptional! We go wayyy back! I met her years ago in my home town Nacogdoches, Texas. She is the only person to have ever braided my hair and I jokingly (but seriously) tell her that when she retires I will retire from getting braids.😂 Her skill and quality of work is unmatched with the most precise, crisp and even parts. She’s a generational braider who does hair for moms, daughters, grandmothers, aunts and friends. She takes pride in her work and her 20 years of experience has allowed her to cross paths with people from all walks of life with different hair types wanting countless styles etc. She and her staff, exceeds expectations on all! if you have fine curly hair, do NOT COME HERE. I wanted half braids on top and a twist out in the back. I was told not to blow dry my hair although that's what works best for me. Fatima never tried to detangle my hair as she was braiding or twisting, instead she put BRAIDING GEL on tangled hair and continued on. When i saw the finished look after 3 hours, I wanted to cry. I told her how unhappy I was and she still charged me $100. That was 3 days ago. I have JUST NOW dissolved the braiding gel and the tangles tht I could. The damage this lady did to my hair is so hurtful to me. Why would a braider intentionally leave your hair tangled and put product on top? I had no choice but to take my hair down right away so it didn't loc up. I do NOT recommend this place as i wouldn't do that to someo
