Justin is a tremendous barber and provides a quality, consistent haircut each time with a great shop environment. The steamed towel at the end is amazing, along with the great playlists.

It’s true—you get what you pay for. I recently moved to Carmel, and the first time I needed a haircut, I went to a local Sports Clips, which ended up being a hack job, to say the least. About three weeks later, I knew I needed to find someone who could fix the mess, and that’s when I found Magic Hat Barbershop. I booked an appointment with Faith, and not only did she fix the disaster, but she completely exceeded my expectations. The shop is immaculately clean, the staff is friendly and professional, and the entire experience makes you feel like you’re getting a true VIP treatment. More often than not, I leave a stylist feeling like I looked better before I walked in, but this place did the exact opposite—I left feeling like I was looking my best. Highly recommend!

My experience at this barbershop was very disappointing. The trimmer used for my beard was not working properly and caused a lot of pain during shaving. The barber seemed impatient and his attitude was quite harsh and unfriendly. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience, and I would not recommend this place.

Justin's Magic Hat is another reason to love New York. After the pandemic ran this Barber Extraordinaire out of NYC, he found his way to the heart of downtown Carmel. And am I glad he did! I am now officially a former Great Clips customer and a Magic Hat customer for life. Spend a little more, feel 10x better about how you look walking out. Never mind how much easier well cut hair is to manage on your own between cuts. Bye-bye clippers...hello magic scissors coming out of the Magic Hat and into the very talented hands of this true hairstyle artist. I predict the Magic Hat Barber Shop will become a downtown Carmel icon by by Christmas 2022. P.S. - I did not know Justin or anyone who did when he cut my hair for the first time on November 13, 2021.
