If you’re looking for a salon friendly experience, this is not for you. I booked an all over color as a first time guest yesterday and my colorist, who was a lovely young lady, suggested roots & gloss only, which I agreed to. There is no reception so no one to check in with when you get there. I had to interrupt a colorist who was with a guest and she had to stop what she was doing and go to the computer to check me in, and she was not happy about it, and I don’t blame her. I had to ask another guest if there was anywhere to hang your coat and she said she hung hers on a few hooks that were on a wall by the coloring stations. After 10 minutes my colorist called me and introduced herself. There’s no color board as their ads promote, pretty much what are we doing today and lighter

My daughter got her first balayage, and her hair was challenging due to a previous patchy box dye self-experiment by my daughter! Jackie and the staff were courteous, honest, and professional throughout the process. She was very happy with the results. Thank you so much to Jackie and to Ashley, who did her blowout.

I came in as a first-timer customer to get my roots done. While I’m happy with the color, I was frustrated that a lot of color was on my forehead and around my ear when they were finished as per pictures. I went home and scrubbed myself to try to get the color off but would’ve loved it if that was taken care of in the salon. I had a chunk of color in my ear that I had to wipe off. I don’t know if I’d come back because of it.

I cannot express how happy I am with the outcome of my Madison Reed Color Bar experience with Dora at the Manhasset location. I have very thick and wavy beach like hair that I have been self toning and treating for years. I always DREAD the salon for the allllllll day experience and extreme pricing. This was not the case- my stylist Dora was amazing and made me feel so comfortable and showcased her expertise by recommending that I opt only for partial highlights and forgo the original root + highlights service as I had originally booked. The outcome was stunning- her color matching skills and knowledge of toning resulted in a bright and natural blonde I was looking to achieve and totally helped w the brassiness I was hoping to rid.
