Mabel Hair Braiding - Raleigh NC

I went to this shop before when my uncle Joe was selling fish some time ago to them. Her staff member did corn rows all the way back. Then now in 2026 I went back to them two more times. The first time I went , I had my hair in a bun then the other day on Wednesday 2/18/20026, I came back to get my hair twisted. The staff here are so welcoming and nice. No attitude, good conversations,not too rough on your hair, blow dry the hair properly and wash the hair properly. Mabel’s African shop is the best place to go too and have reasonable prices based on what you want to get done. I have gone to places that the service was horrible, hair not washed thoroughly. For this shop it’s a 100/100 for me. I have very , very thick hair and my hair is natural all the way. No colors nor hair dye. I let th

Horrible Service. I walked in and was met by a braided. I told her I wanted passion twists and that I brought my own hair. I then asked how much the service would cost, she didn’t answer. My hair is thick and fine. Braider proceeded to add globs of braiding gel to my hair. i asked for large parts to help with the braids to make sure they would stay in. I was ignored. after parting only the front of my hair, I just asked to leave. out of respect I asked how much, Mabelle’s had the nerve to say $50. Remind you nothing has been done. I paid the fee and left. Trust me do NOT go here!

Despite the poor reviews, I wanted to see for myself. First, their response time is amazing. Quick and concise. I was then given a reasonable price and you cant find no other like it in Raleigh! The shop was packed. Don’t mind the negative reviews! I was so impressed my braider could pull off these braids. It’s flawless. I wish I got her name, but she was sweet and talked a bit when I wasn’t dozing off. Thank you for the patience and diligence. I will be returning!

I came in asking for knotless braids they had me pay $250 before the service was started. I asked her to take a picture before she finished and the parts were very uneven, the sections were uneven, the sizes of the braids were inconsistent, some were small some were medium size, the ends of my hair were sticking out of the braids and all. So I told her she didn’t have to finish and that I did not like them. I told her I would give her $75 for her time but can I receive a refund. She refused my refund and proceeded to tell me it’s not her problem if I don’t like it.
