Lulu's Family Cuts

Highly recommended. Our son went here for his first ever haircut and the staff were great and very accommodating and gentle / kind with him. They saved the first curls they cut and put them into small envelopes as keep sakes. They had enough toys and distractions that it was easy to cut his hair while he played with the toys in his lap. We will be coming back regularly.

I’ve been here 4-5 times before seeing Dolores. It’s expensive, haircuts are mediocre, but it’s conveniently down the street and they are supposedly kid friendly. But after today I will not be returning. Today we saw Karen and she barely welcomes the children, does not smile or act friendly toward them. My son was getting upset because he had something in mind for his cut that was different than what I had asked for and he started crying and acting out. She stopped the haircut because she “did not have to be spoken to like that” HE’S FIVE!!! Nevermind the fact that they only schedule 15 mins per haircut which means that with transition time between clients they spend about 10 mins on the hair, no time for your child to get comfortable with what’s going on, and they charge $40. Agree with the other reviews that this place is trash. We had a cut with the other person in the salon, not Dolores, it was my son's first hair cut and I specifically said just a clean up, off his ears, eyes that's all. She did not engage with him at all, not one smile even, my son was crying and screaming throughout, she kept cutting with the chopped hair falling in his mouth, eyes etc, and after all that, cut it so incredibly short! Dolores seemed better, we had a cut with her for my niece but the other person should not be working with kids! Moreover, I expressed my displeasure and she just said 'he kept moving', he's a kid!!!

Extremely disappointing experience. I was genuinely shocked at the lack of effort on the part of the hairstylist to engage my child in a salon that is supposedly set up for kids. There was no warm greeting (or greeting at all), no attempt at conversation, and no effort to engage with my child as she anxiously sat in the seat, even when my child spoke directly to the hairstylist. Also, cost was too high given zero focus on working to engage child.

Do not go there! I took my 3-year-old daughter there today, and I cannot believe how terrible this place is. 1) While we were waiting for our hairdresser, Karen, a 6-year-old boy who was getting his hair cut started crying loudly. The hairdresser next to his chair, Deloris, annoyingly scolded the boy, saying, "Hey! No screaming." If you're worried that your child might act out in any way, this is not the place for you. 2) When it was our turn, Karen asked me, "How long do you want me to cut it?" I responded, "Not too short. I want to put her hair up, and I don't want her hair to fall on her face." Karen did not like my answer; she became visibly annoyed. After several rounds of back and forth, I realized that the only answer she was willing to accept was a specific number of inches. At on
