Ami is a pleasant and competent barber, a long-time local who is honestly interested in the lives of her clients. Her shop is located in an historic barber shop right on Main Street downtown Saranac Lake - just look for the authentic rotating barber pole 💈. She does her best to fit in walk-ins but an appointment is the right thing to do.

First time at this quaint but comfortable location, the service was very exceptional and the results followed suit. She was warm and welcoming and the price was more than worth the wholesome conversation through the duration! People seem to love the cut so nicely done with my minimalistic requirements!

I will never be going here again. Showed the lady a picture of the hair cut I wanted and told her how much I wanted cut and she completely messed it up. I am now embarrassed to go out without a hat on because she severely ruined my hair. She was rushing and did not ask any questions about if what she was doing was good during the hair cut. On top of that she is way over priced for how bad this experience was. $35 for a botched hair cut and a months worth of embarrassment

The owner conducted herself poorly- asked "when was the last time you washed your hair?" When I said that it was the night before (this was the truth, my hair just gets oily as the day progresses) she turned me away and said she wouldnt cut my hair until it was clean. "I can't even give you a good haircut, sorry." Among other remarks. Overall was impatient with me in the lead up to that as well. While what she said may have been half true there were more tactful ways to say it that don't manifest as insults. Will not be getting my business

An excellent haircut, exactly as I requested. And a friendly and talented barber, who clearly has a strong rapport with her customers with whom she engages in enjoyable conversation.
