Len's Barbershop

After moving back to Los Gatos from the mid peninsula after a 20 year absence, I set out to find a good local Barber. I found two at Len's Barbershop which is in downtown Los Gatos on a side street with easy parking. Hannah and Marie take turns barbering and you are guaranteed the barber of your choice by which day of the week you go to get your haircut. Don't go on Wednesdays when they both head for the golf course. The two women are very skilled with the barber's scissors and are enjoyable to chat with while you are being groomed. Their friendly demeanor and expertise create a welcoming atmosphere, making each visit feel personal and enjoyable. Best part of my day was strolling over to Len's in the drizzling rain and getting Marie to lower my ears while I was in town visiting my step-dad in the hospital. Walked in, sat down, cleaned up beautifully, and even got a little shoulder massage on the house. Because they're that cool. Straight up barber who knows her craft, down to earth and kind, with easy conversation and none of the b.s. that can usually be associated with getting a haircut these days for 20 bucks. I wish there were places just like this where I currently live, a million miles from home...thanks for brightening my day.

Walked in today and Marie told me she doesn't do women's hair. I told her I wanted a #2 fade, the same as the man she was working on right then. She said female customers "change the atmosphere" and flat out refused me. I got a great cut at $21 with warm conversation at Los Gatos Barber Shop on Los Gatos Blvd a half hour later.

I walked in the day of my friend's wedding and the barber gave me one of the cleanest fades I have ever gotten. I was only in town for the day and didn't have cash on me - the barber said the cut was on the house. Truly an amazing experience from beginning to end. Check them out!
