I recently had my hair done at J&Co and I can confidently say that my hair has never looked better. After years of trying various hair salons without finding the right fit, J&Co exceeded my expectations. The salon is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and staffed with dedicated, professional stylists who uplift each other by complimenting each other’s work, making it such a friendly environment which I thought was so special. Their prices are also very reasonable. Special credit goes to my hairstylist, Alyssa. She is warm, kind, and incredibly trustworthy with my hair. I've been coming here for years and absolutely recommend Meeree for haircuts! She's the best! The reason for the 3 star review is due to my last couple appointments with a negative hair washing experience. During my last appointment, the woman who washed my hair was way too rough, gave a harsh scalp/head massage and pulled my hair extremely hard, especially towards the end after conditioning (to wring it out) to the point my scalp was in pain and inflamed through the next day. It felt equivalent to a stranger yanking my ponytail out. I ended up icing my head until the pain subsided but my scalp was still tender for a week, preventing me from putting my hair into a ponytail as it still irritated my scalp. I had an absolutely terrible experience at this salon at my last appointment. I came few times before and was pretty satisfied with the results. Last time when I made appointment they scheduled my haircut with Tony. I have never used him before, but I decided that it’s not a big deal to cut split ends after hair coloring. I thought that anybody could do that since I had straight hair without any layering. I noticed that Tony has shaking hands but assumed that if J&Co Hair hired him, that means it doesn’t stop him from doing his job. Hello. I came to J&CO on Saturday at 11am with Tony, 3/9/24. Before arriving, the receptionist promised me that Tony would be able to cut my hair if I provided him with picture of what I want. I called twice just to make sure, and the receptionist ensured me that he was good and would be able to do the haircut I wanted. Once there, I provided him with a picture of what I wanted, and to add curtain bangs, but he did something completely different. The end result is traumatizing. It is uneven all over, with no uniform, choppy, botched, and extremely short( 8 inches removed). During the appointment, I observed that Tony seemed preoccupied with his own ego. Amazing Experience from Start to Finish! Love, love, loved my experience at this salon! The space is super clean, beautifully maintained, and they use high-quality products that smell absolutely amazing. My stylist, Alyssa, was fantastic bc she really took the time to listen to what I wanted and made sure we were on the same page before getting started. She even did a strand test to set clear expectations, which made me feel confident and comfortable. The whole experience was smooth, relaxing, and beyond my expectations. Can’t wait to come back!
