In The Village, A Fine Salon & Day Spa, Mullica Hill

I am writing because I feel reviews are extremely important ( especially nowadays). I also think it’s important to express that I had an amazing experience with the stylists who did my hair and also my makeup. Overall I loved how my hair and makeup turned out and everyone was so nice and kind. Even those who I didn’t have one on one interaction with. Everyone except the one lady at the front desk. Which is sad because it took one person to make me have the “not so great experience” I had. She just was not friendly at all, didn’t make eye contact, and overall just didn’t seem too pleasant. In my opinion if someone is going to be the one in the front checking people in, they should be friendly and welcoming to EVERYONE. I had a great experience with Madison! She did my facial and it was amazing!! She is so professional and comforting. Everything was thoroughly explained and she was so kind and gentle. I felt so relaxed and so refreshed afterwards too. Highly recommend, and definitely will be back!!

Very bad experience with Stephanie today. She had to just do a little bit of trimming and then blow dry. Trimming was fine but then she got very rough on my hair when blow drying. She was using a flat paddle brush to blow dry my hair pulling and twisting intensely in circles (with the flat brush). After 5 min. or so, I told her my scalp is very sensitive and I asked her to kindly use a round brush and be more gentle. She calmed down and I was all good about it until halfway through when she asked if I minded her going and braiding someone else's hair really quickly. I said this was not fine and left looking way worse than when I went in. I cannot not mention the station was not clean. All combs and brushes had hairs from previous customers, and none was soaked into the disinfecting solutio

I have been using Erika M for color and cut, and she is wonderful. She is the first colorist to preserve the blonde highlights during touch ups, which is great. Very nice salon in general too and I highly recommend. They are also usually on time which is appreciated. I am editing my review, just a warning. My stylist was out and I was given the option of rescheduling or using another stylist. I was not warned that they use tier pricing, and then I found out afterwards that the price for the cut was $70 not $55. I sought a remedy from management but was only given an apology. I think this was unprofessional and I am disappointed.

In the Village has been my salon for as long as they've been in business and Bobbi my stylist since even before then. I love it there and I love Bobbi. She's the one who got control of my challenging hair and has kept it in line, lol. Bobbi has a friendly, professional manner that makes my time in her chair a joy. As a teacher, I can't show up in class without my students complimenting my hair. In the Village is my guaranteed respite from the world.
