I've been getting my haircuts from Jose Luis since he took over the shop over ten years ago. He gave a great haircut when he started, and he has become even better over time. Always friendly with good conversation, and he gets to know his customers and is very accommodating. He's the best! Though walk-ins are welcome, if you want to make sure he's available it does help to schedule an appointment.

My customer experience at Hill Cuts was extraordinary. The welcoming atmosphere from the barbers definitely made it a worthwhile visit. Arrived a bit early for my appointment and was glad to see my barber, Luis, doing work on another customer. Luis delivered top notch service and helped me decide on a change of style for my hair. Will definitely be coming back and telling my friends about.

I’ve been going to Jose for the last 10+ years! I travel a lot for work and have had to endure haircuts elsewhere- but I’ve never had a better haircut than with Jose! He’s always thorough with the cut - taking his time and being a perfectionist. He always has good conversation to make the experience even more enjoyable!

The absolute best place in Washington Heights. I have been to hundreds of barbershops and what makes this place different is they know how to style your hair not just cut it like other barbers and i took up hairstyling and know the difference between a good barber and a great hairstyle. I prefer the latter. The lady styles my hair and i have no complaints. This place is small but good. Not at all like a big barbershop with 15 barbers and nobody knows how to give a good cut. Jose is the best! His haircuts and shaves are great. He takes his time and he’s great with kids. I’ve been going to him for 9 or 10 years, and my three boys all got their first haircuts with him. He’s really, really patient with kids. He does mohawks, and shaves arrows and lightning bolts upon my kids request. We moved out of Washington Heights three years ago, but still always come in to get cuts from Jose. A great barbershop!
