Hilda Hair Salon

This was my first visit to Hilda salon. The place is cute and quaint with a relaxing view, overlooking trees out of the front windows. While some salons can overwhelm with the toxic smells, this one smelled nice and clean. The chair and sink were super comfortable. I came in with long blonde hair, long overdue for cut and color, and discussed with Emily my desire to go darker, but still look natural. She took time to understand my wishes, as practicality was important to me, and helped me walk through cut and color ideas. Emily was patient and intentional. She was happy to chat with me plenty, but also allowed me quiet time - which is rare in salons and so nice. Not only is this the coziest salon I've experienced in Gainesville in my 20 years living here--great music, large windows for natural light, blueberry coffee brewing, minimalist earthy décor--but I cannot say enough about Rosie's expertise. I told her what I was thinking of for face-frame highlights that I wanted to "pop" against my dark hair and she just took her coloring skills and gave me something far better than I even had in mind and I absolutely love it! I have received so many compliments and inquiries about who did my hair. What a beautiful space to come and receive some self care as a mother. Soothing to the senses and thoughtfully and intentionally decorated to make you feel at home. Brent is a gifted hair stylist. Master of his craft and will make you feel brand new. Family owned by him and his sweet wife Elise, you can feel the love and thoughtfulness from the moment you walk in till the moment you walk out. Highly recommend! They are using top quality products so your hair will thank you!

Emily gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve had in a long time! She took the time to listen to what I wanted and paid attention to every detail. The salon was so cozy and open and the whole experience was relaxing and professional. Highly recommend Emily if you’re looking for a great stylist!

This salon is very clean and beautiful. They use high quality products in their clients’ hair. Emily was amazing, she took her time to talk about my expectations and had great advice as well. I came in with very damaged and dry hair, and she gave me a beautiful haircut. Now my hair is bouncy, soft, and my curl pattern is back.
