Heroic Hair

Very accommodating and did an amazing job! I had Ian as my stylist and I got "the big chop" going from extremely long hair to a short bob. The haircut looks amazing, and I was able to donate about 10in of my hair! Plus, they covered everything with the donation, so I only had to mention that I wanted it donated! As a wheelchair user, you will need to be ambulatory enough to stand and to transfer to other chairs. They were willing to move chairs out of the way if I wanted to stay in my chair. However, the entrance, the restroom, and the general space is a bit too small for anything but a small to mid-sized manual wheelchair. Anything bigger probably won't work well.

I've just moved to the Ames area from a different state and was in need of meeting a new, hair stylist. I've been going to my previous hair stylist for over 5 years and was terrified to go to a new place. I searched online and found Heroic Hair salon. Upon entering the establishment, I noticed a fun and relaxing type of environment. I was able to get my hair professionally done by my hair stylist named Tarrah Holdredge. She is super sweet, flexible with schedules, and can I say TALENTED? I made an appointment to dye, retouch/restyle, and treat my hair. After going to Tarrah, I didn't want to go to any new stylist since she did everything so well!

Stunning job by Lizbeth, exactly what I wanted! She’s so attention to detail and makes sure to explain everything before she works on my hair. I love my experience every appointment, everyone is so friendly and welcoming :) Forever my go-to salon!!

I’ve been considering making a review for a few months now, and unfortunately I’m still not over my experience at this salon. The first photo is my hair before visiting Heroic. I don’t usually use heat and color it maybe twice a year. I wanted to get to a more neutral brown, as I tend to get coppery in between colors. I had a consultation so the stylist understood what I’ve been doing with my hair, what color was currently on it, and how much hair I have, because there’s a lot. I was quoted between $200-300. The last two photos are after my “color correction” and two step hair color. I left the salon after a 8 hour appointment and paying $469 with green, stripey hair that felt like hay. I've gotten my hair done here several times. First I went to Molly for a cut and green dye, it went amazing. Now I go to Alexa, they always know what I want and it's always great.
