Hands Above Barbershop

Come visit, if you want to get a great cut and have good conversation while you wait. My guy Ant greets everyone as they walk in and always goes the extra mile to make sure all the customers are satisfied. Will and Maya gets down as well.

Came here a couple times, got my haircut by the Hispanic guy and the lady in the back, they were both pretty nice. The other guy in the entrance with the long beard has horrible customer service. You walk in and doesn’t even greet you, spends lots of time on his phone while having customers sitting in his chair waiting for a cut. Very rude and unwelcoming. Always in the mood. Seen how he treats his customers. Don’t expect to walk in and find the friendliest staff. Just walk in, get a cut, and get out.

I was visiting LA from Hawaii and had a little trouble finding a black barber in DTLA. I found Hands Above and upon arriving I was welcomed by Mr. Anthony. He was very knowledgeable about my particular hair which was great as well as all other kinds of hair. I will say I learned more in this one haircut than I’ve known about haircuts and hair in my whole life. It was a great experience and a great haircut and I’m happy to say I’ve found my barber for whenever I’m in Los Angeles from now on!

What shop in LA can you walk into and feel like family? You can trust and be rest assured that the “hands above” your head cutting your hair are attached to people who have dedicated their lives; building a relationship with the community and bringing the finest cuts this profession has to offer. If you have never walked into this shop, you would be a fool to pass it up. Do yourself and your old lady a favor. Walk on in, take a seat. You’re in good hands and even better company.

Mr. Anthony Came thru for me. My son has autism. Cut his braids off. Mr. Anthony was patient with him an made him comfortable. It was also his first hair cut. Thank you so much for be a blessing to us 💓
