Halima African Hair Braiding

I’m not happy with the braids. They don’t look neat and fresh. My hair wasn’t throughly washed and it was half blow dried. I asked for bra strap length and these braids are butt length. They only dipped the ends so the braids are stiff and I have to redip my self and do my edges. They’ll hold me over to next hairstyle but I definitely won’t be returning and I wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends/family.

I have been getting my hair braided from Halima for the last 6 years. I have had an amazing experience getting my hair braided here! Halima is incredibly skilled, patient, and pays close attention to detail. My braids are always neat, comfortable, and exactly what I wanted. The process is smooth, and they make sure I am always comfortable the entire time. Plus, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for high-quality braids.

I am very upset about how they did my daughter's hair. My daughter asked for MEDIUM ISLAND (boho curls) TWISTS and they gave her a MICRO twist with CRIMPS at the end. My daughter showed her the exact way she wanted her hair done and the stylist said she could do it. She asked my daughter what size she wanted and she said medium the stylist repeated it back to her and said "medium size right?" confirming that she heard her and knew what she was doing. The stylist turned my daughter AWAY from the mirror and started parting her hair. When she started to part her hair she noticed she was doing free parts instead of square AS THE REFERENCE PICTURE SHOWS and told the stylist. the stylist corrected herself at THAT moment then continued to do free parts as she got to the crown of her head.. and at

They took me in at the last minute and was very fast and my braids are very neat . However I had curly hair added and they tied the hair onto my braid instead of braiding it in .. my hair began to fall out 2days later . Regular braids are fine but if you want bohemian then go somewhere else.

I’m beyond frustrated with the service I received. I specifically told both stylists that my hair was too tight, but they ignored me and kept pulling. Not only did they use gel without asking, they completely disregarded my discomfort. The photo below shows actual hair that came out from the root—from just one twist. That’s not just painful, it’s damaging. I felt disrespected, unheard, and mistreated. This was an awful experience, and I would never recommend this place to anyone who cares about their hair or how they’re treated.
