Everyone there was kind to me with positive energy and gave me compliments 🤗 I sat with Awesome Touches and she was gentle on my sensitive scalp, repaired some of my thinning locs and cleaned up my free form parts. And did this cute style!!! These pics were from Day 4. Even if you have mature locs you twist yourself, try her out because her method let me get more washes in before my next twist. 💖

Ms. Connie did a great job and my scalp didn't hurt at all afterwards! Almost a week later and I have no scabbing or hair pullout. My daughter who's such a crybaby when getting a retwist was also super happy with her results! Said she felt at home from start to finish. I say we have a winner! 🤗

Very late review. They're not good with afros. I went a few times. I would ask for a trim and shape up, but end up with a botch haircut. The last time I went in, the barber made some shape that is just awful. He didn't seem to know what to do exactly and needed direction from the barber next to him. I had to wear braids to hide the bad cut (this is not the first time btw). I will say this though, their customer service is very good. The barber I usually had was friendly and he generally took his time. Also, for the first bad cut, I got a refund. I just emailed them, sent them pictures, and got a very quick response. My barber gave me an excellent haircut. Hair It Is Barbershop is a vibrant and friendly establishment. But I need a barber that not only gives a great haircut but is also timely and reliable. Even though I’ve made an appointment online every time I’ve come to this shop, I’ve never gotten in the seat in a timely manner. In one case, I had to leave (as I was going to miss another appointment) and come back later in the day. The final straw for me was when I made an appointment online and received an email confirming my appointment. I went to the shop and the barber wasn’t there. I found out he wasn’t even working that day. He profusely apologized and offered me a free haircut next time. Ray was a great barber! This was my first time coming to Hair It Is and I wish I would have known about them sooner. Ray gave me exactly what I was looking for in hairstyle and beard clean up / trim. The shop is comfortable and chill. Online booking is great and made sure I was able to still get my errands and things taken care of that same day (whilst looking fresh doing them). Highly recommend for anyone living in or visiting the Boston area.
