Hack Manhattan

Really chill. Not as accessible as a tight entry area and a lot of stuff / wires to be care of tripping over. Some of the volunteers aren’t responsive to simple questions.

Look up their website to know when there are activities you could try. It's remarkable they can have a shop like this in the middle of Manhattan

If you’re curious and want to make something big or just hang out and meet some of the greatest minds of this generation, HackManhattan is the place to be. An incredibly friendly crowd with lots of cool projects 24/7.

Love this place. The people are welcoming and events are fun. It is open to even non-members as long as members are present. It isn't 5 stars because it has some room for improvement, but I do recommend visiting at different days and times and hitting up their events. You are sure to find someone to help with your project, or find a new friend! Let's Make stuff together.

I LOVE this place. It's too bad Bill and Melinda can't chip in on the rent, though... $50 a month for dues is a little hard to swallow (though certainly reasonable, all things considered). It would be nice if there were some other "levels" of membership that might allow more casual tinkerers to get their feet wet, at the same time keeping the place fresh and a little less "cloistered". That said...don't be shy to go to an open-house talk, etc... Don't worry, you WONT be the biggest dork there, for once!
