GOOD HEAD: HELL'S KITCHEN

When I say this is the most amazing barber I’ve ever been to, I mean it. From the incredibly warm, welcoming and fun vibe, to the ambience and the amazing skill-level of their barbers. From the moment I walked in I knew this place was the real deal. My barber Erwin spent the time to really listen and speak with me about what I wanted. Hands down the best cut I’ve ever had. Not to mention he was so sweet and fun to engage with. GO HERE! Beyond a barber, Good Head feels like a part of the community 🌈 As a queer person, finding a barber I feel safe with and seen by is incredibly rare. I’m so excited to see / be part of this company’s glow up.

How do you review an experience? Sure, you can review the logistical parts of it: The haircut was expertly done, the shop was immaculately clean, it is a safe space, and the staff were friendly and polite. But, that doesn’t quite (pardon the pun) cut it, for Good Head. Backstory: My husband and I were unexpectedly in NYC this past December and January, for his cancer treatment. About a month into the stay, near my birthday, he encouraged me to take a day for myself to recharge my own batteries. In the chaos of needing to organize the trip, I’d neglected some of my own grooming care, and so decided to book some time at Good Head. When I arrived, feeling both nervous and guilty about taking a day away from caring for my husband, Erwin’s kind nature and cheerfulness helped put me at ease.

This barbershop is a whole experience — fun, bold, sassy, and unapologetically queer. The energy is always high, the music is great, and the conversations are even better. It’s the kind of place where you walk in for a haircut and leave feeling like you’ve just hung out with friends. Always welcoming, always on point. Honestly, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Recently had my 1st Good Head experience after a friend highly recommended the barbershop and stylist Chris especially. I was looking to make a big change in my appearance so I wanted to go somewhere I could trust would do a great job. Chris was amazing from start to finish. He was communicative prior to our appointment, he really listened to what I was wanting, and he did a great job at giving me just that. I am so happy with how it turned out. Besides a great haircut, I really enjoyed his demeanor and our conversation while in the chair. I cannot recommend Good Head and Chris enough! Pro tip: Try to schedule your cut in advance because this place is popular, booked, and blessed.

Chris K has been cutting my hair for years now, he is fantastic. For context, we have gone from long layered straight hair, to leaning into my natural curl pattern, to a short curly bob with bangs. He always checks that I am happy with the work he's done, and I always leave happy. I have recommended him to many of my friends and associates, and they have all left his chair looking amazing! I know his color work is superb as well from what I personally have seen. He seems to be booking up fast so I recommend you reach out quickly to snag an appointment
