Fusion Salon

Decent haircut, but not sure if I’d return again. My barber was rather heavy handed. He also had a heavy accent and got kind of rude when I failed to understand him. Like really? Edited: the owner reached out and apologized, presumably after seeing this. That was nice of them. Maybe I’ll return again after all — it’s so convenient for RI residents.

This was my first time visiting Fusion and Tanya (Tonya?) cut and styled my hair. While the salon may have less frills than other NYC salons, they use high end products, the atmosphere is calm, and the prices are unbeatable. Tanya really listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted - curtain bangs with face framing layers. She checked in with me through out, for example confirming the bang length I wanted before cutting. I told her from the beginning I wanted to maintain my length as much as possible and she followed through. I’ve been to countless more expensive salons where they don’t listen and cut off several more inches than I wanted. She also styled my hair using protective and finisher products. I will definitely be going back.

Can’t believe that it took me over a year to find this hidden gem in Roosevelt Island. The prices are really reasonable for NYC, given the quality of service & the great atmosphere. Tamara worked her magic on my hair, and I left feeling and looking fantastic. Boris is really nice as well - even though I forgot to book my appointment, he was incredibly accommodating and kind. Definitely recommend them.
