Fatu United Braids & Weaves

I called ahead to ask about pricing and was told it would be $35, but the total ended up being $41. I didn’t work with Fatu directly, but one of her staff members did my hair. I came in for a particular style, but when she started the initial braid, I wasn’t happy with how it looked and decided to switch to a braid down style instead. When I stopped to look over the style before the switch, Fatu asked what was wrong, which I appreciated. However, it felt like my concern was more of an inconvenience. The braider seemed frustrated during the interaction as well. After switching styles I noticed that one braid wasn’t laying as flat. When I looked it over again , Fatu asked, “What’s all the back and forth?” referring to the situation with the braider. I felt like the tone was a bit confrontat

First time at this shop and it was a great experience! The owner got us in the next day, and Rose braided both mine and my daughter’s hair perfectly. My daughter didn’t cry at all, she said it didn’t even hurt! Rose was gentle, professional, and made us feel comfortable. The styles came out super cute, and the shop had a real family vibe. Great service, great prices, they’ve got a loyal client in me!

My appointment was between 10-10:30 am. When I arrived the stylist was not here. I have been here before and I had expressed to the other stylist that I having neck surgery and I cannot put strain on my neck to take out the braids. Furthermore, I told them the day before it was my husband’s 50th birthday so I wanted my hair done before the festivities. Very unprofessional. Not on time. This is my second time and last time. Not cool and they need to stop overbooking appointment if they can’t do their clients hair. Poor customer services!

I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone !! She came off so unprofessional. I got twists in my hair and a couple days after. Most of them started unraveling. So I called and ask her to fix them... assuming there would be no charge to fix what THEY messed up. So I go get them fixed and they had to open a new pack of hair. When she finishes she asks me "so are you going to pay for the hair?" My jaw dropped... I couldn't believe she even asked me that. We exchanged words and I ended up paying for the hair. But no tip was given.

This place over charges and does a horrible job. The owner runs all the girls that work there and have to coach them on how to braid. Your hair style will not last very long after you get it done from this place. I asked for small box braids because I’m military and have to wear a bun at work. They ended up putting “medium” box braids in my hair. It was way too big and heavy. My bun was huge!!!! After about 3-4 days they started unraveling. I had to take them out after paying $165. Waist of money!!
