Customer Reviews
The braids are absolutely beautiful. But the customer service is not. I have been there about 5 times. I didn’t go back for a bit. On my first visit, the lady told me they changed the policy and you had to pay upfront. The whole time I watch several people (as my hair was being done) pay at the end of the service. Idk why I was asked to pay upfront when all I asked if they take card or cash. I did my hair on Monday and the braider was so rough with me. I have been getting my hair braided since I was 8 years and never in my life had anyone be that rough with me while braiding my hair. When it came time to braid my hair all the way down, the girl who was originally braiding my hair abruptly stopped and went to help with another client with kinky twists. Eventually another braid came to fi
Paid $50 for braids that cost $25 (only did it because I was running out of time and needed my hair done quickly) and it was just 2 braids . Didn’t make my line straight on my scalp , my braids are coming off my scalp on the second NIGHT ! Literally have to take them out because they are practically falling off , as well she used way too much product to hold down the bumps she didn’t want to fix . She also braided inward instead of outward. Very disappointed. Never again I could’ve went to any braiding spot in Newark and they would’ve done a better job for $25!
Been coming to Emma’s shop for years. Her prices are affordable. Though I do wish some styles were cheaper as they are quicker, shorter styles and easier. But alas. I did end up coming once with human hair and was surprised the women in the shop couldn’t do my braids with human hair. I keep coming back for the same styles. Haven’t tried anything new or complicated for the most part. Parts are neat and clean. Haven’t had any issues with any of the braiders.
This is our first time visiting Emma’s shop. We called and had a 10 AM appointment . When we got there we were told we had to come back in a few hours. I was disappointed but we live a few mins away so went went home. I called in the afternoon and they told me to bring my son back in an hour. I am very pleased and happy we exercised patience. They did a phenomenal job and my son is VERY happy. We are not customers of Emma and I will bring him back every 4 weeks for a re- twist. Thanks again guys👍🏾
My second time getting braids in my hair with extensions but the first time here. Got them done with Sherita. Loved the way they came out especially the fact that they had the exact color to match my salt & pepper hair. I only left them in for a month but it was worth it for me $170. Went back and got cornrows (no added hair) for $50. I loved it. They also do walk-ins
